Description
This painting is part of my series 'Sikhs: 225 years of milestones and global footprints', a tribute to the valiant men who fought and sacrificed their lives.During the British Raj in India, almost 138,000 Indian troops fought in Belgium and France during World War I, many of them Sikhs. More than one quarter of these soldiers became casualties. They fought with dedication and loyalty for a cause that was not even theirs.
